The Quick Guide Business Manuals.

Manual 1 - Quick Guide to: Business Formation and Start-up Strategies.

This manual addresses the concept of entrepreneurship generally and the process of starting and building a great and enduring business, specifically. There are many people with money to start a business but lack the idea as to what business to do; how to develop a product, design a service, form and formalize a business entity. This manual will help such persons churn out business ideas and businesses in their numbers thus contributing to solving the endemic unemployment problems in the land.

Designing new products or services, innovating existing products or services and identifying the right market come simply easy now for both people with the fund to execute and those with the passion to make it happen.

With Quick to: Business Formation and Start-up Strategies, you will:

-       Discover yourself afresh - your strength and the riches given you for wealth building

-       Distinguish between  wealth and  riches and use riches to build wealth

-       Design and create the right product(s)/service(s) for the right market

-       Build structures around the product(s)/service(s)

-       Design system around the business

-       Formulate processes and policies for the business.

BUT, that is not all. There’s more! How about the people that will drive the enterprise?

Manual 2 - Quick Guide to: HR and Business  Management.

The real connection between effective and efficient Human Resources Management and Business Management is recruitment, selection and placement of the right people in the right places. But that is not all. What about what takes place afterwards? A healthy and vibrant business management dovetails good HR principles and practice vis-à-vis staff relations, effective and efficient workplace motivations, sustainable capacity building policy. Programmes and processes are equally vital.

While the first manual shows how to ideate, formalize and create the structure, culture and system of a business entity, this second one reveals salient secrets on how the right human resources can be employed and how the business can be managed profitably through effective HRM. Small businesses often suffer from low staff morale which negatively impacts on the productivity and profitability of the organisations. This is largely due to lack of basic HR and business management skills on the parts of the owners of business enterprises.

Also small businesses are faced with the challenges of human resources management – from hiring to getting enough or the right commitments from staffs and ensuring that the business run on a predesigned structure and predetermined system etc. All these and more are addressed within the pages of this manual. In a nutshell, it addresses the concepts of administration and management as well as ethics and corporate culture, issues and crisis management. Creative and critical thinking are all to be learned from this second manual.

Manual 3: Quick Guide to:  Business Planning and Basic Accounting.

Navigators use compass to show direction as they chart new courses. An entrepreneur is a navigator and an adventurer. Aspiring to and venturing into business or into a new line of business necessitates planning and a business plan to serve as a compass that gives your business its direction and dimension.

Just as car manufacturers are not the ones (or the only ones) who will drive the car, for which purpose they prepared manuals for the-would be drivers (and owners), an entrepreneur designs a business plan for would-be driver(s), that is, key employees, investors or even an eventual buyer, in the case he/she wishes to sell the business later and better still, for potential partners and funders.

Apart from medium or long term blue print for the entire business existence and operation there are other short term plans and planning that a business enterprise operates by and the standards and formats in this manual are all applicable. But this manual is not all about business planning.

It is also about book keeping and accounting management tailored to the needs of small businesses. How do you keep records, manage your finances, and organize your financial records and cash flow? How do you do financial projections? How do you organize your accounting system? How do you do costing? How do you do your budgeting?

All these questions and more are answered in this manual. However, the manual does not cover all aspects of accounting. It only focuses on the areas that aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups have found so challenging most of the times.

Manual 4 - Quick Guide to: PR, Business Communications and Marketing Management.

PR is here treated so as equip the small scale entrepreneur with the knowledge, exposures and awareness as well as an appreciation of the world and power of Public Relations. It is not hard to notice in our business environments how the principles, practice and ethics of public relations is daily grossly violated by people who interface with the members of the public on behalf of their organisations.

The practice of public relations as an intrinsic daily living for both individuals and organisations as opposed to and ironically, as it relates to the practice of Public Relations as an organized professional practice, is thus emphasized. MSMEs start-ups should be equipped with these principles as they should be with those of other fields that relate to entrepreneurial ventures such as bookkeeping and accounting, business management, sales and marketing etc.

Marketing, as a top business priority should have been treated separately having its own manual. However, since the Quick Guide series are only manuals and not textbooks, it is only good that we lump related business subjects together, rather than having so many separate manuals. The similarities between PR, business communications and marketing fit and fuse them all together in this one manual.

The start-ups and entrepreneurs who wish to engage in a positively fierce, aggressive and cutting-edge marketing, business communications and PR endeavours will find this manual a useful companion for information, inspiration and guide.

Manual 5 - Quick Guide to: E-Commerce and Sales Management

Sales drive all operations and production endeavours in a business enterprise. The level of demands and pressures on your operations and production activities is determined by the level and quality of your sales. The ground works are done by the way you put your team together. Sales would have been part of the subjects of the fourth manual alongside marketing. It is rather treated here alongside ICT, operations and productions because of the many links it has with ICT, operations and productions management in modern business activities.

Sales, as a very vital business endeavour is a major focus in this manual. It is the target and results of all PR, business communications and most importantly, marketing efforts.  As a continuation of the fourth manual, which is a study of public relations, business communications and marketing, this fifth manual starts with ICT, which is also an integral tool of business communications, marketing and especially, sales. Whilst ICT is discussed as an important tool of modern business operations, especially in such areas as book keeping, record keeping, data and information management, e-commerce, digital marketing etc., it is also treated as an intrinsic elements of productions, especially in modern business practice.

The fundamental and foundational meaning and history of computer, operative systems (OSs), the Internet, the world wide web, websites, e-commerce, digital marketing, sales management etc., are all discussed alongside and in relations to operations and productions management
